CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Elijah Moore | The Illusionist
PREFERRED JOURNAL:allucina
CANON: Original
AGE: 19
BACKGROUND + PERSONALITY (ORIGINAL CHARACTERS ONLY): World Info (1600-ish words) | Personal Info (600-ish words)
WISH: To stop an assassination attempt on his father by an extreme anti-Augment faction, leading to his death. His exact wish was that Mikael would've stopped the assassin in time. Eli himself feels responsible for his fathers 'death' (as it would've ended in death if not for the wish) as he was flirting with / distracting Mikael at the time (his father's chief bodyguard).
FIT: Eli's job in his home world is much the same as his job within Cadelle, in a sense. He is the patron of an Illusionary gallery within High Tower. His job is to show people visions of things that are often pleasant and usually pleasurable. It is something he would seek to continue in Cadelle, helping people see the things they miss, for example, which would be possible with a thorough enough description on which Elijah could base his illusion. Beyond the capabilities of his gifts, Eli would be more than happy to generate positive energy along the lines of romance and sexual goodwill; he has an active and healthy sex life back home and is quit the partier... definitely more of a lover than a fighter after all up in his ivory tower.
CONSENT: Eli would never violate consent as it isn't in his nature; while he finds it hard to hear no this comes more from a place of being spoiled rather than outright intent to violate someone's consent. He does however sometimes struggle with consent when it comes to his powers; while it isn't an outright violation of someone's consent Eli uses his illusions openly and indiscriminately, something which requires in essence, entering someone's mind although he can't 'read' any of the information found there; it is however, kind of intrusive depending on how specific we're being wrt consent. I would prefer this ability not to be removed completely, however, as its pretty intrinsic to Eli's identity- he does small things with his gifts, for example, like changing his clothing or minor alterations to his appearance or even creating cute puppies or stars to twinkle around his head. While he could use the gift offensively, he's never been in a situation to have to do that thanks to never having been admitted amongst the Guardsmen.
POWERS/ABILITIES:Illusions- Elijah has the ability to alter the perceptions of people around them. These illusions can be visual, auditory, tactile and even fool the olfactory senses. Over the years Eli has had a significant amount of experience with altering people's perceptions both on a singular person basis and in groups. He can see the difference between his own illusions and reality the same way a human might know the difference between real life and a video. Other people however, without significant mental training, would not be immune to his illusions. They are dependent, though, on a mental hook- Eli would either need visual contact with a target or prolonged exposure to their mind in order to fool them with an illusion.
